Our Vision: Real Pay Data From Every Employer in America
Published August 2026 · 5 min read
WAGETru started with a simple question: what do workers actually take home? Not what a job posting says. Not what a salary survey estimates. What actually hits your bank account every two weeks after every tax, every deduction, every withholding is done.
Today we cover 20 employers — mostly hospitals and healthcare systems in California and Vermont. But that is just the beginning. Our goal is much bigger.
Where We're Headed
We are building toward a future where any worker in America can look up verified take-home pay data from their employer, their industry, and their region. Not just healthcare. Not just union jobs. Every employer. Every industry. Every city.
That means verified paycheck data from:
Every single one of these employers has workers who wonder if they are being paid fairly. Every one of them has employees who have never seen what their coworkers actually take home. WAGETru aims to change that — one verified paystub at a time.
Regional Comparisons: Jobs Near You
Salary data without location context is nearly useless. A cashier making $18/hour in rural Arkansas has a completely different financial reality than a cashier making $20/hour in Los Angeles. The Arkansas worker might own a home. The LA worker might be splitting a one-bedroom apartment with a roommate.
One of our core goals is to build regional comparison tools that let you see what the same job pays at different employers within your area. Imagine being able to search "warehouse jobs near me" and see:
Amazon Fulfillment: $19.50/hr → $1,245 take-home biweekly
Walmart Distribution: $21.00/hr → $1,340 take-home biweekly
Target Supply Chain: $20.25/hr → $1,295 take-home biweekly
Costco Warehouse: $22.50/hr → $1,430 take-home biweekly
UPS Package Handler: $18.75/hr → $1,198 take-home biweekly
All figures after federal tax, CA state tax, FICA. Based on single filer, 40hrs/week.
That is the kind of comparison we are building toward. Not "the national average warehouse worker earns $38,000-$52,000" — but specific, local, verified take-home pay at specific employers within driving distance of your home. Real information for real decisions.
Why This Matters
When workers cannot compare pay, employers have all the leverage. They can underpay without consequences because nobody knows any better. Pay secrecy is not an accident — it is a strategy that benefits companies at the expense of the people who do the work.
Pay transparency flips that dynamic. When a Ralphs cashier can see that the Costco two miles away pays $4 more per hour for the same work, they can make an informed decision. When a nurse at a community hospital can see that the medical center across town offers $200 more per paycheck after taxes, that knowledge has real power.
Our vision is not just data for data's sake. It is about giving every worker — whether they stock shelves, drive trucks, write code, or care for patients — the information they need to be paid what they are worth.
How We Get There
Worker Submissions
Every paystub submitted adds another employer, another city, another data point to the map.
Regional Mapping
Building location-aware comparisons so you can see what jobs pay within your commute radius.
Industry Expansion
Growing beyond healthcare into retail, logistics, tech, construction, education, and more.
Community Powered
Workers helping workers. Every submission is anonymous and helps someone else negotiate.
We cannot build this alone. WAGETru grows with every worker who takes two minutes to submit their paycheck data anonymously. The more people participate, the more complete the picture becomes — and the harder it gets for any employer to hide behind pay secrecy.
The Bigger Picture
Pay transparency laws are spreading across the country. Colorado, California, New York, Washington, and dozens of other states now require employers to disclose salary ranges in job postings. But ranges are not enough. A posting that says "$15-$25/hour" tells you almost nothing about what you will actually earn after a year of step increases, what the real health insurance costs are, or what your biweekly deposit will look like.
WAGETru fills that gap. We go beyond what the law requires and show what workers actually experience: the real paycheck, broken down line by line, employer by employer, city by city.
Whether you work at a hospital, a warehouse, a grocery store, a tech company, or a construction site — your pay information belongs in the open. And we are building the platform to make that happen.

In the coming months, you will see WAGETru expand into new industries and new regions. We are actively working on:
- Retail and grocery pay data (Walmart, Target, Ralphs, Costco, Kroger)
- Logistics and delivery (Amazon, UPS, FedEx, USPS)
- Tech industry verified compensation
- Government and public sector pay scales
- Regional comparison tool with map-based search
- Mobile app for quick paystub submissions
- Notification system when new data is added for your employer or job title
If you believe workers deserve to know what their peers earn — share this page, submit your data, and help us grow. The more transparent pay becomes, the fairer it gets for everyone.
